Scope and Contents

The Photographs series contains print and digitized images relating to Congressman Moore's congressional career and personal life and spans the years 1956-1968. Both black-and-white and color images are included. Photographs from this series are digitized and available online at: https://moore.lib.wvu.edu.

Photographic topics include scenes of speeches, campaign events, political meetings and hearings, formal portraits, personal and candid shots, and travel abroad, including to Vietnam, Greece, and Rome. Numerous photographs include West Virginia constituents, such as veterans groups, school children, and various organizations, and West Virginia landscapes. Prominent Republican politicians, such as Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Everett Dirksen are also featured.
