Collection consists of photographs mounted on edge notched cards. The Tanganyika Project was a joint effort between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and West Virginia University, College of Agriculture to help improve agriculture practices in East Africa. This was an exchange program with Tanganyikan (now Tanzania) students attending WVU to study in the College of Agriculture and WVU faculty visiting Tanganyika offering technical assistance. Scope and Contents
Boxes 1-2 consist of black and white negatives, and black and white contact sheets and prints. Negative sizes include 4”x5” and 5”x7” sheet film, and 2-¼" and 35mm roll film. These images date from 1956 to 1970. The College of Agriculture sorted the negatives and proofs by subject. These subjects reflect the college's departments and the course of work in the early 1960s.
